Online Mental Health OT

We provide practical mental health support for young people through Medicare. Our endorsed mental health occupational therapists help you manage everyday challenges, build meaningful routines, improve motivation, and work toward your personal goals.

How We Help

Occupational therapists can provide a range of services funded by Medicare. At Enable Health Co., we offer support under 2 Medicare programs:

M7- Better Access to Mental Health Program

If you have a diagnosed mental health condition, you may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions per year with an endorsed mental health occupational therapist.

To access this support, you will need:

  • A diagnosed mental health condition, such as anxiety or depression.

Please note:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder  alone is not covered under this program unless there is a separate diagnosed mental health condition.
  • This program does not cover NDIS related assessments.

M3 – Chronic Disease Management Program

If you have a chronic or complex medical condition, you may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare-rebated sessions per calendar year with an occupational therapist.

To access this support, you will need:

  • A chronic or complex condition that has been present for six months or longer.
  • A referral from your GP or medical practitioner, supported by a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements.

Please note:

  • Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder are often eligible under this program.
  • The 5 annual sessions are shared across all eligible allied health professionals.
  • The current Medicare rebate is $58.00 per session, therefore an additional out-of-pocket fee will apply.

What are the fees for sessions?
  • Our fee is $193.99 per hour.
  • If you are eligible for Medicare rebates, you may receive a rebate of $58.00–$81.90 per session, depending on the session length and location.
  • Out-of-pocket (gap) fees will apply. We’ll discuss this with you before your first appointment.
How many sessions can I access?
  • Up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
  • Your GP can refer you for an initial 6 sessions, and if more are needed, you return to your GP for a review and may be referred for up to 4 more.
What’s the difference between an OT and a mental health OT?

All occupational therapists (OTs) are trained to support people with everyday activities, but a mental health OT has extra training and experience in mental health.

A mental health OT focuses on how your mental health impacts your daily life.

They can support you with:

  • Managing stress or anxiety

  • Building healthy routines

  • Returning to school, work, or social life

  • Coping with big emotions

  • Boosting motivation and confidence

At Enable Health Co, we are mental health endorsed, which means we have met additional training and professional standards required by Medicare to provide specialised mental health occupational therapy. This ensures you receive high-quality, evidence-based support tailored to your mental health needs.

I’ve used all my Medicare sessions or don’t have a Mental Health Care Plan, can I still see enable health co?

Yes, you can still see us!

If you’ve used all your Medicare-rebated sessions or don’t have a Mental Health Care Plan, you’re welcome to continue accessing support as a private client.

This means the full session fee applies ($193.99), and you won’t be able to claim a Medicare rebate.

We’ll always chat with you about the costs before your appointment so there are no surprises.
